Volunteer Opportunities

The museum is always looking for volunteers who can help us improve the visitor experience. There are positions for many interests and knowledge levels. When you volunteer with the Sweetwater County Historical Museum, you are upholding our mission to connect people to the story of Sweetwater County by preserving and presenting its natural and cultural history. Thank you!

As a volunteer, you can choose the position that best fits your interests, such as: 

  • Events Aide (such as for Dia de los Muertos or 3rd Grade History Fair)

  • Front Desk Greeter & Store Aide
  • Gardening and Grounds Volunteer

  • Foreign Language Translator Volunteer

  • Cataloging Volunteer
  • Oral History Interviewer & Transcriber

Volunteers must complete an application and read our museum volunteer policies. Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age and any volunteer under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign their volunteer applications.
