Hispanic Heritage Festival

Hispanic Heritage Festival

The Sweetwater County Historical Museum invites the community to celebrate Hispanic Heritage on Saturday, September 19 from 12:00 - 4:00 pm. In partnership with Juntos Wyoming and BRIDGES for Community and Unity, this event will showcase the art and culture of our Latino community in Sweetwater County and Wyoming.

This festival will be the opening reception of Angie Quintana Bennett’s “Visual History of Home & Heritage” which will be on display until November 7. Angie is a local Green River artist who uses watercolor and acrylic to showcase her Hispanic heritage and love for the natural world through landscapes and portraits. During the festival, Las Angelitas Unidas y Los Rayos del Sol will perform folklórico dance with traditional music and clothing.

Juntos Wyoming’s mission is to educate, organize, and advocate for an Equality State where every individual—regardless of identity or origin—enjoys equality, respect, and dignity. This event is also possible thanks to a Culture Grows grant from Wyoming Humanities.

Please join the Museum and Juntos to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Sweetwater County Historical Museum located at 3 E. Flaming Gorge Way in Green River. The festivities will take place from 12:00 - 4:00pm outside the museum. This event is FREE and open for all ages.
