The Sweetwater County Historical Museum and Rock Springs Museum are teaming up with the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce to host another Historic Bus Tour of Downtown Rock Springs on Tuesday October 13th.
The tour will begin at the southeast end of the N Front Parking Lot nearest the Park Lounge at 19 Elk St. in Rock Springs at 4:30pm and guests will be driven around downtown and end back at the Park Lounge at 6:30pm.
The Historic Bus Tour is led by Laura Dale, Public Engagement Coordinator for the Sweetwater County Historical Museum. Guests will learn about the iconic spots that were built over the last hundred years and hear about the history that goes along with them. The bus also makes frequent stops where a business owner may step on to share about their business history in town, or where the tour goes behind-the-scenes at some of the buildings in the area, including a tour of the Rock Springs Museum with Jennifer Messer, Museum Coordinator. Historic photos from the museums’ collections make this tour immersive and engaging. This event is made possible in part from a Culture Grows Grant awarded to the Sweetwater Museum from Wyoming Humanities.
This tour sold out in one week last time, so we encourage you to call early to secure your seat on the bus! With a limited 18 seats, the tour fills up quickly. Tickets can be purchased for $15 at the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce or by calling the Chamber at 307-362-3771.
